ABOUT US


The Boilermakers Local #73 received a Charter on June 2, 1973 with 168 members. This has since grown to 800 members involved in Field Construction, Fabrication, Quality Control, Office and Technical workers. Field Construction work involves construction and maintenance at various industrial facilities in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Tradesmen work on boilers, scrubbers, precipitators, process vessels, storage tanks, duct work, breeching stacks, fans, nuclear reactors, condensers, exchangers and other equipment, as agreed with other Building Trade unions.

Fabrication shops are involved in manufacturing oil rigs, duct work, boiler components, tanks, process vessels, various equipment used in the oil and gas power generation and Pulp Mills throughout North America.

Quality Control members work in various industrial facilities performing non-destructive testing which includes Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current and PMI.
